These unusual shaped hills in Balacson are believed to be the very old remains of of Volcanic activity in that area, but could also be due to being on or at least very near a Fault line that runs along the seabed between Biliran and Calubian.
View from the peak of Subing Subing Hill beside Balacson in Kawayan. Rocks visible on the hill top clearly show signs of once being exposed to very high heat, such as could only be in Volcanic activity. Similar rocks are found near the hot Springs in Libtong, Naval.
